Join Northeastern CAMD’s Center for Communication, Media Innovation and Social Change for their upcoming event “Fall Symposium – Social Justice Under Siege: Press Freedoms in a Troubled Democracy”, taking place on November 6, between 6pm and 8pm, in EXP (Room 804).
The keynote speaker for the Fall Symposium is indigenous journalist Angel Ellis, director of Mvskoke Nation Media in Oklahoma and subject of the 2023 Sundance award-winning documentary Bad Press (2023), who will deliver a talk on press freedoms in “Indian Country” and beyond.
After the keynote, there will be a short screening from Bad Press and panel discussion with journalism faculty, including Caleb Gayle, Marcus Howard, Hanaa’ Tameez, and Dan Kennedy.
