Disability Resource Center (DRC)

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) has been a part of the Northeastern University campus since 1978.  We recognize the inherent value and diversity of all individuals. Our purpose is to ensure that those students with disabilities have equal access to the academic experience at Northeastern University.

The DRC provides students with appropriate services and can advocate as needed within the wider University community. At the same time, our goal is to promote independence and self-advocacy within each individual.

Efforts

• The DRC maintains an ongoing partnership with Co-op and Career Services to increase opportunities for employment and placements for students with disabilities.
• In a joint effort between the Disability Resource Center, Facilities and ITS, there is now a video phone installed for public use on the first floor of the Curry Student Center.
• Disability Resource Center has established a chapter of Delta Alpha Pi,  an academic honor society founded to recognize high-achieving students with disabilities who are attending colleges and universities as undergraduate or graduate students.
• DRC maintains a guide on “Planning Accessible Campus Events.”
