About Pride Month

Pride month began after the June 28, 1969 Stonewall Inn police raid targeting the gay community and subsequent resistance and protests from the community. What was Gay Pride Day, celebrated on June 28, 1970 eventually became Pride month. Pride month is celebrated annually in June, and recognizes LGBTQ history and celebrates the contributions from the community.
